With everyone wanting to point fingers at who was to blame for Benazir Bhutto's assassination I'd thought I'd bring up the issue of putting some of the blame on Bhutto herself. I mean seriously we all know "Islamic democracy" IS a contradiction of terms. She knew the Islamic wackos were after her in a country that is over 90% Islamic and they had already tried to assassinate her before. So what does she do? She stands up through a window exposed to thousands of Islamics with full knowledge that there were extremists in the crowd and then she was killed. She could have sat in the vehicle and waved politely but no she just "had to" expose herself unnecessarily. Nobody but Bhutto herself is responsible for her UNNECESSARILY exposing herself like that. So that begs the question: Why in the hell would she offer herself up as a sacrifice like that???? At best her actions were reckless. At worst she either had a conscious or subconscious desire to become a SUICIDE MARTYR for Pakistani Democracy. Either way the end result was BAD for Pakistan. She should not have stood up through that sunroof. That doesn't mean the ahols that killed her aren't ahols but why did she have to make it easy for them? Lastly now that I am through playing 'devils advocate' I would like to say that I sure would rather see people being 'suicide martyrs' for democracy than for some whacko religious extremism.
