"I'm the commander in chief, see, I don't need to explain, I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting part about being president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation." -- George W. Bush ... quoted in "BUSH AT WAR" by Bob Woodward.
"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator." -- President-elect George W. Bush, at a photo-op with congressional leaders during his first trip to Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C., Dec. 19, 2000
Aided and abetted by witless Republicans and spineless Democrats in Congress George W. Bush has made the Constitution useless as an instrument for the protection of the people from his authoritarian excesses. In his own words he has spelled out his opinion of the Constitution, "... it's just a God damned piece of paper", (cited by Doug Thompson in Capitol Hill Blue, Dec 5, 2005)
He has lied us into two never ending wars and has ambitions to add a third. He has instituted programs to abduct, imprison and torture anyone that he decides is an enemy (remember -- he's the "decider"). He has amassed a private mercenary army willing, for a price, to mobilize against American citizens at his order (as in New Orleans).
Like all despots, George W. Bush fancies himself as chosen by God to impose his will upon the world. This is clearly demonstrated in this statement he made to a group of Old Order Amish during his visit to Lancaster County, PA on July 9, 2004: "I trust God speaks through me. Without that, I couldn't do my job."
His delusional state is his personal misfortune -- that so many among us are duped by his grotesque distortions of reality is a national tragedy. Bush is a power-drunk psychopath ready to concoct a false-flag event, declare martial law and "postpone" the 2008 elections. Like Pakistan's General Pervez Musharraf, he'll then suspend Congress and designate himself sovereign ruler during the "temporary emergency."
To avert this calamity it is essential that Congress impeach both Bush and Cheney, remove them from office and turn them over to the International Court of Justice at the Hague for prosecution for their crimes against humanity.
