In reply to War is an answer, you fail to to realize that your justifications for War are the same reasons the enemy use. Your idea that force is needed in order to acquire peace is to think that tyrants could never be us.In fact; the world has known war for centuries, and yet it is unable to stop war. You base your assertions upon this continuation.
War is not the answer, so what is the answer? When we do not have war, this is peace. How do we stop a tyrant? It is clear that in order to stop a tyrant, it is necessary to not create one. We in the United States determine who the tyrants are, create them, and set an agenda to stop them. America created Saddam, and Hitler. We created the attack on Pearl Harbor. We did things to foreign governments that were wrong, such as promoting the Opium Trade, and we defend those wrong conclusions.
Believing the idea that America would not have been founded unless it took upon arms against the British is no conclusion that force is necessary. In fact it is an admission of our guilt and inabilty to recognize that democracy is only a birth from force and killing. While Americans go on their merry path thinking they are liberated from Britian, the british only sigh in relief that their conquest; America has gained the independence to achieve British ideals, without needing to involve huge costs to British interests.
America is Britains child, and it will never change that fact.
Another reason that War is not the answer..is because all society bases its existence and honor to some sort of religious purview. Religion...especially Catholicism has always been a caricature of nonviolence. Jesus and the new Testament has always said to turn the other cheek. To even having Jesus accept death before he would use violence to destroy his enemies. In fact Catholicism is the opposite of many religions which will advocate the use of force. Many Americans are hypocritical to their core beliefs . In fact they think it is nonreality, so they support the positions you pontificate in making the case for War.
I think McArthur was right....he knew and hoped like many Americans War would end. It is that hope we still search for. Fighting and advocating the case for wars....is to accept that innocent people, children die...from the affects. In any sane society this is not acceptable. In fact it fuels the flames and hatred to promote more.
Such it is your case in supporting war, as an addiction. Like cigarettes...how can smoking not be an answer? Sure its probably bad for you, but the addiction, the dysfunction, and the culture make you believe it is acceptable. After all you have to die from something, why not smoke. This to you is liberty and freedom...is it not?
America culture is embedded to the arsenal. Safety is not found without the persuader, the tool, the gun. In fact mankind never really finds peace until they die. Because a dead man can not carry or shoot a gun. Isn't that how you perceive safety, honor, and liberty? And then I ask you who is really the brave man? Who is the honorable man really? Is it the man who can defeat his enemies without a gun...even at death, or the man who shoots back and hides behind a gun?
Reality is subjected to who's reality stands the test of time....and knowing that life beyond this life is a consideration we can not forget. Not so much for whom is left behind, but where we go to.
As you type your necessity and need to have War as an answer, I can assure you that although you think it is the answer, the answer will always give you death. History proves this. But as I follow the fact that War is never an answer I may suffer death, but at least I know my ideas in not supporting the case for War, gave no one just cause in wanting to kill me. I therefore live, and honor my basis of cultural identity in believing religion as my reality.
