As Americans, we need an active way to participate in our government. Yes, we vote once every four years. But then we are easily ignored and all the promises made during the election are promptly ignored. We need a way to impeach and remove our political leaders through a national referendum, if our leaders fail to act.
Our current constitution says that Congress "Shall" impeach. Not may or may not. They shall. And yet they have failed to begin hearings even though the abuses of power, not the least of which is a preemptive war of aggression in violation of International law.
Our choices are so dumbed down and centrist that there is hardly any choice between the candidates – and it wouldn’t matter anyway. Once elected, even when polls clearly indicate the people's interest, our politicians do whatever they want.
Politicians find a way to represent their large financial donors and the corporate elite. There are a few exceptions - but for the most part Democrats and Republicans have abandoned the people and they represent variations on the same corporate theme. Democrats and Republicans have sold out the people and continue to do it.
As inflation hits double digits - maybe we will be jolted out of our sleep walk.
We vote, then politicians justify doing whatever they want.
Have you ever wrote to your Congressman and got a response that says, “thank you for writing, I’ll keep your viewpoint in mind”. It's like a kick in the pants.
Then you find out that even though 70 percent of America was in support of your position, a mandate by some standards, your Congressman found a way to justify his position - or more accurately, his financial backers.
How can this nation NOT be in an uproar?
How can there NOT be marching in the street?
The number of scandals is staggering – and yet we continue to be shocked and awed – complacent. America is numb. We need to get some national smelling salt and pull ourselves out of it.
Our nation is facing unprecedented weakening of civil liberties and strengthening of state powers. This should be making us all activists. And while we sleep, our nations jobs and national treasury have been robbed blind. We are deficit spending with no seeming awareness of the consequences.
How much misinformation and how many scandals do we have to endure?

When will it end? Probably when the economic bomb drops in the coming year. Double digit inflation and massive unemployment - a growing number of economists say it is coming and unavoidable.
We are all tired – but enough is enough!
Maybe all of this distraction has kept us from noticing that we have been looted – that our national debt is staggering and that the benefactors of the Bush Treasury "give away" have been Oil, Military and Health Care…
Let’s make it end now!
Call, write, march – insist on impeachment of Cheney and Bush.
Send a loud message to your Congressman to start the impeachment process.
Also, go to Congressman Wexler’s website and tell him to start the hearings.
