I thought I was just paranoid. But now William Kristol agrees with me! Maybe he's read my blogs at OpEdNews.Yes, THE William Kristol, one of the actual architects of the Iraq invasion and all the harebrained neocon policies that Cheney and Bush tried to pull off with such catastrophic results. Remember the "Project for a New American Century?" He's a New American Centurion. Of course he always speaks about the last eight years as if he were a disinterested observer, as surprised as anyone at the horrible way America has gone off the rails. But didn't he write much of the Cheney/Bush foreign policy playbook himself? A clever way to get a job as a pundit, write the policy, and then get hired by Fox to do Golly Marthas about it.
So there's Kristol on Fox, prattling on in his off-handed way about how Obama's nomination may be playing to allies and enemies, and what Bush might do about this, vs what he would do if McCain is elected. He pulls the usual "sending a signal" baloney out of his, ah, hat, and seems to suggest that a McCain victory would insure continuation of his policies, but that Bush may feel he has to invade Iran if Obama appears likely to win.
