Thanks to the Dispatch for acknowledging the voice of so many in Ohio who have conducted their own investigations into the election of 2004 when no one else would. Like Ms. Shaffer, so many others have been exhausted and overworked looking at the state of our elections and we applaud her for asking the tough questions.
Marc Dann, you should know better. What happened to the Marc Dann to whom I had presented the Backbone Award in 2005? The coin scandal was a blot on Ohio politics that may never come clean save for your efforts. Where did that Marc Dann go?
Since before the coin scandal, Ohio election activists have long been exiled into the desert of official denial. No evidence? Marc Dann, can we have an honest conversation? The truth remains that Ohioans were extremely hurt by the brazen disregard for the rule of law in at least a few dozen Ohio county BOE's and we have sent you reams in the U.S. mail. Should we have sent it certified? And, what happened to Lloyd Early, the attorney in your employ to whom you had assigned the job of investigating election fraud? He was mysteriously taken off the job and was not replaced. Since then we have not heard back from you.
We Ohio electors remember your words, "We're certainly going to look at what happened in '04 to see what needs to happen in '08." AG Dann, the time is now and long past. At the time you said these words, "We don't have any (evidence) in front of us." Well, now you do. Since that time Ms. Shaffer has sent numerous items to your office without response except to say there is "no evidence." It has been over two months since the Ohio Election Justice Campaign requested a meeting with you and Secretary of State Brunner who has a very challenging job before her in '08. She needs our help. Marc, can we talk?
