Americans share French aspirations for democracy, prosperity, peace and justice.

::::::::

Americans all are pleased by the intelligent and well reasoned campaigns of both candidates in the French elections.

The French have presented a shining example of democratic discourse for all the world to admire and emulate.

Congratulations to both candidates for their courage and their hard work in providing the French a meaningful choice in the election.

We view France as an ill friend who can only get strong again by deliberately and purposefully strengthening herself.

From our perspective, France's economy is sluggish and will only grow by explicitly adopting pro-growth policies.

Mde. Royal was unwilling or unable to formulate and articulate a message that addressed these points.

Nicholas Sarkozy, on the other hand, was relentless in his championing the need for France to strengthen herself and to grow her economy.

While Mde. Royal deserves praises for her outspkeness on matters of social justice and equity, France needs the pro-growth policies that Mr. Sarkozy has advocated.

We send our best regards to the people of France.

Most of all, the best wishes to President Sarkozy for his success and for France's greatness as a country blessed with freedom, peace, social justice and prosperity.
