Ms. Toensing is more than welcome to sue me if she feels libeled in any way by my opinion.<<<

Having just watched Victoria Toensing testify on CSPAN before the Congressional Committee investigating the leaking of Valerie Plame’s identity, knowing her penchant for disassembly on the matter already, I was still unprepared to see the sagging, convoluted hideousness on public display as Representative Waxman stripped her naked on CSPAN. Again and again, Toensing –an attorney for God’s sake- answered questions never asked and repeatedly stated that “she [sic] had written the law”. It was almost as damaging an outing as Plame’s was, exposing Toensing as the endlessly evasive and corrupt person she is. Toensing who boldly opined in print, that “Plame was not covert”, again alleged it, and when confronted with testimony by the current Bush appointed head of the CIA, General Hayden’s clear statement that “she was covert”, one would think some degree of shame would have set in and a retraction would have occurred.
Something strange and hellish has happened since Bush took office, and an alternate universe has imposed itself; Lies, and Lying (note caps) have not only reached unprecedented levels of overtness, but so has sheer hutzspa; Like a child confronted with chocolate all over her face, denying the crime, the liars have taken inspiration and gained strength from the mendacity storm generated by the administration and learned to keep a straight face under circumstances previously thought beyond anything but a mea culpa with down cast eyes.
Ms. Toening’s endless (and obviously unwanted) speeches in which she insisted that because she took part in drafting a law 30 years ago, she is ever the arbiter of it’s application by current law-makers and it’s enforcement by the very agencies it addresses, is no more relevant than a carpenter defending an arsonist based on a claim of having originally built the house. In this case, the motives for such a pathetic defense of the clearly guilty in this case, paints Ms. Toensing as nothing less than a willful shameless obfuscator of due process, clutching at straws and pulling every Johnny Cochran trick in the book to mitigate damage to her political sycophants.
Apparently Ms. Toensing’s authority is vast, even beyond the head of the Central Intelligence Agency. When further pressed as to what information that [sic] was -again- she went full circle back to her opinion of the law. Jesus Horatio Christmas, it was absolutely PATHETIC. I have to applaud –I guess- members of Congress who remained seated despite the smoke pouring from their ears as the prevarication continued. A clearly exasperated Waxman then confronted Ms. Toensing with Executive Order 12958, which reads: "Officers and employees of the United States Government ... shall be subject to appropriate sanctions if they knowingly, willfully, or *negligently ... disclose to unauthorized persons information properly classified." [3] Under the executive order, the available sanctions include "reprimand, suspension without pay, removal, termination of classification authority, loss or denial of access to classified information, or other sanctions."
Notice the term “*negligently”. Executive Order 12958 was clearly violated by multiple members of administration with the unveiling of Plame as a CIA operative, yet Toensing insisted no one in the White House had participated in the outing of Plame. Toensing was then rightly asked how she could possibly “know that”, AGAIN she began giving her irrelevant interpretation of the Law: When asked if that (Executive Order 12958 ) applied, she once again offered forth another opinion of the Intelligence Identity Protection Act instead. If you find this recounting of her testimony mind-numbing, believe me, compared to actually watching it, you’ve truly been spared dear reader. The word “Yes” finally escaped her lying lips at the end of her umpteenth unwanted legal assessment. Yes, yes indeed: we have Dick Cheney’s defacto admission in his own handwriting on the margins of the Washington Post article written by Joe Wilson.
Toensing’s attempted defense was Pathetic, even for an attorney actually tasked to represent a defendant (which of course she was not). When the head of the CIA testifies to the head of a Congressional Committee that an agent was “covert”, it’s game-over as far as any claims to the contrary are concerned.
This –of course- brings us to Ms. Toensing real identity: acting in the capacity of Council to the White House. But wasn’t she required to register her status as such? At least Valerie Plame had sense enough to know when she’d been exposed as an operative and her career was finished. If Toensing’s status as a White House attorney was believed“covert”, today’s exposure of Ms. Toensing as an incredible Lying Liar ought to end her career in any sane venue. I did say “sane”. I imagine that given the moral and ethical nightmare evidenced today by Ms. Toensing, and her lack of shame at what’s obvious to any observer with a brain wave, we will undoubtedly she her tonight or tomorrow on “Fox”, once again carrying the administration’s filthy, treasonous water. I imagine her new career has only begun. I heard she actually works for the White House, in the Vice President’s office…..but I've probably said too much.....
What a whore.
