The Decline and Fall of the USA
"This was the big weekend. Missed the Friday night open house at Carol Moore's house. I was sick all week and wanted to make sure I would get to the dinner dance. It was very nice. We had the picnic at the Memorial Park. It was a smaller group. The weather was perfect. Jimmy Deemer gave everyone an engraved reunion stemmed glass in memory of Jay. Maybe you'll get to come back for our next big reunion or sooner. Take care!"
"Thanks much for posting. For a good laugh, you could have appeared before the latest clown judge who keeps me in this country. When I told him he was going to suffer in hell for 1400 years, his jaw dropped. I missed you guys, as ties to the past. How do I write action/adventure books? For years I brooded about every rotten thing that happened to me and my friends. I wrote 5 books for practice. Then, I wrote 11 for keeps. You may note I'm still crazy after all these years."
"Not laughing. You need an attitude adjustment if you ever want to move on. If getting back home is a real true desire you need to become Mr. Cooperation, nice guy, etc. whether you truly feel it or not. As my mother used to say" You always get more with honey than with vinegar." Of course I need to take my own advice sometimes. You sound like you're a nuisance person. You'd think they would want to give you the money to go home. Of course do I really want another socialist vote here. Just kidding. Take care!"
Mary Ann and I have an acquaintance who is 60 years old. The last time we agreed politically was the election of Dwight David Eisenhower. We remain the products of the last pre-television generation. We were born after the assassination of Leon Trotsky and before the tragedy of Pearl Harbor. We both have lived through the decline of our country into the status of a banana republic with nuclear weapons.
She describes our malaise as creeping socialism, while I see it as rampant feudal mercantilism. Our disagreements are unimportant. Neither of us has the power to stop her fall from grace.
Eurasians Gasp in Horror at the US Madness
A quick poll after Obama's health care
speech showed approval up to 67% from 52%. The media concentrated on the
"You lie!" outburst. Soon, the US public discounted what the
President said.
Glenn Beck recovered from the loss of sponsors to attack Yosi Sergant of the
National Endowment for the Arts. Beck had a tape of the conference call Yosi
had made to his clients urging them to support various Obama policies.
Unhinged lunatics predominate. The US
borrows 40% of her budget to pay entitlements, to bail out corrupt bankers
and to invade Afghanistan.
The Obama administration has done nothing to prevent a repeat of the 2008
meltdown.
My Police State Extracts Health Insurance Premiums from All
I enjoy single payer that protects me fully for $10 per
month. They take the $10 out of my pension before I see it.
So, I am sure that no American would object to the $10 premium. His
difficulties lie elsewhere. The US insurance companies operate
with a 30% overhead. Thus, they can't compete with non-profit entities. As
long as they exist, Americans will never see a $10 premium rate.
Unless the citizens vote to nationalize the insurance industry, the US will
continue her downward fall.
Hourly Workers are Due a 50% Pay Hike
All workers deserve a yearly pay hike at least equal to
advances in worker productivity. Over the recent decades, the declining labor
unions have not been able to win productivity gains for their members.
Indeed, real wages have remained flat for thirty years. The managerial stock
owning classes have pocketed productivity increases during the period. This
has led to many of the excesses in the stock and housing markets. It has led
to a huge disparity of wealth and political power between the idle rich and
the working poor.
Rather than waiting for the EFCA to bear fruit at some future point, I
suggest pay packets to be raised 50% across the boards.
