Lies, lies, and more lies: White House continues to deceive on Iraq::::::::
Majority Democratic lawmakers in the United States House of Representatives are crafting legislation that will save American lives and minimize losses to US treasure caused by what many say is the obvious mismanagement and incompetence of President Bush and his Republicans regarding the war in Iraq.
The legislation is aimed at securing US and international success by correcting the seriously flawed war policy recklessly advocated by the administration, which now includes deploying more troops in the midst of the civil war in Iraq.
Finally, the Congress is summoning the courage to demonstrate leadership in their rightful legislative roles and to provide sorely needed oversight into the incompetent , mismanaged execution of a war that should never had been fought in the first place because it was based on pure intelligence fabrications, is illegal, and has encouraged the proliferation of terrorists.
On Sunday, the President's Chief of Staff, Stephen Hadley, became the latest célébrité notoire to be dutifully sent out by the White House to entertain the Sunday morning media circuit. Mr. Hadley's job this day: to defend an increasing indefensible war and his boss's mishandling of it.
As the number of Americans killed in Iraq now tops over 3200 the war is becoming more and more difficult to justify on military, moral, or political grounds.
Nevertheless, the administration appears to be willing to do anything, as is evident in the recent I.Lewis "Scooter" Libby conviction to go to any lengths to spin the reality of what is happening in Iraq. Apparently, Mr. Hadley will now be the triangulator in the executive branch's "Alice in Wonderland" approach to foreign affairs.
Apparently, the Bush administrations's latest PR effort aims at directly taking on the critics of the Iraq invasion, after the old strategy of trying to change the subject backfired last week when General Peter Pace denounced gay Americans as immoral and faced a heated backlash.
