After originally announcing its intention to air "The Path to 9/11" with limited commercial interruption, the network now will air both parts of the $40 million movie without any advertising. BTW, because "Path to 9/11" will now air without sponsorship, whatever audience it attracts won't be officially recorded by Nielsen - too bad. However, ABC News has prepared a special documentary hosted by Charlie Gibson to air following the end of night two, when Bush makes his 18 minute speech on 9/11 in the middle of the movie.The DNC should buy ad time on Charlie Gibson's news special to air its video of Bush saying in September 2001, he would get bin Laden Dead or Alive -- Then, on March 13, 2002 Bush saying of bin Laden, "I don't know where he is, I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him."

2006: CIA Closed Unit Focused on Capture of bin Laden. The Central Intelligence Agency closed a unit that for a decade had the mission of hunting Osama bin Laden and his top lieutenants. The unit, known as Alec Station, was disbanded in late 2005 and its analysts were reassigned. Michael Scheuer, a former senior CIA official who was the first head of the unit, said the move reflected a mistaken view within the agency that bin Laden was no longer the threat he once was. "This will clearly denigrate our operations against Al Qaeda," he said. "These days at the agency, bin Laden and Al Qaeda appear to be treated merely as first among equals."
