If you're like me, you've been trying for years to get your U.S. Representative to fully support the immediate impeachment of the entire Bush Administration. Mine has shown almost no inclination to do so, and my calls, letters and e-mails have never netted a response - not even a form letter.
Still, bearing in mind that Tim Ryan (D-OH) has never shown any love for Republican policies or the Bush Administration, I think his head's in the right place. I just think his heart hasn't been stout enough to defy the party leadership and stand up for impeachment. As such, I'm still trying to send him the right kind of encouragement, hoping he'll soon do what I think he knows is right.
To limit my overexposure I've been trying to get more of my friends, relatives and neighbors to help run the baton, but for the most part they lack the understanding of our political situation and/or the motivation to call or write. So, after personally calling Ryan's office again this morning, still urging him to support Kucinich's impeachment resolutions, I decided to try something different: posting a comment on one of Ryan's own YouTube videos, where he and his most active supporters can reasonably be expected to check in.
Unfortunately, none of Ryan's videos deal with impeachment, so I had to try (with very few words) to honestly relate impeachment to whatever issue he is tackling in the video. I also tried to be tough without being unnecessarily rough, but whether I succeeded in any of these things is for each reader to decide.
If you think an approach like this might work for you and your representative, see if he or she posts his or her own videos on YouTube, and if so, try posting comments like mine (which follows) on their latest or most viewed videos.
>>>Every good thing Representative Ryan fights for will be moot if bombs fall on Iran. He needs to attend NOW to his oath to defend our Constitution from ALL enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC. Representative Kucinich's comprehensive impeachment resolutions have made many of the higher Bush/Cheney crimes a matter of congressional record, and since Bush now INTENDS to go to war in Iran, continued congressional inaction is indefensible. If Ryan can't IMPEACH NOW, he doesn't deserve our continued support.<<<
Good luck!
