The present document speaks for itself, but for the sake of those who may need reminding, I add below the text of the relevant article, Article VI, from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Alas, while the treaty is said to have come into force more than 38 years ago, little progress has been made on implementing this vital article, and, indeed, with proposals to deploy these weapons in space becoming more and more frequent (think of the money that can be extorted from taxpayers for this «defence» project), that progress which has been made - the SALT treaties, etc, is in danger of being wiped out....
Article VI
Each of the Parties to the Treaty undertakes to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament, and on a Treaty on general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control.
