As both Media Matters and Keith Olbermann pointed out, Morton Kondrache made the nonsensical comment that "waterboarding" - the interrogation technique in which the detainee is brought back from the verge of drowning - isn't really torture, even though it "feels like" torture.
Setting aside the moral implications, this statement is idiotic because it misses what torture is all about - pain! Pain, of course, is defined by how something feels, so if something "feels like" torture, it is torture.
