On Sunday 's (June 18) CNN program "Late Edition" President Bush's Press Secretary, Tony Snow, said, "He [Bush] understands that. If somebody had taken a poll in the Battle of the Bulge, I dare say people would have said, 'Wow, my goodness, what are we doing here?' But you cannot conduct a war based on polls."What rubbish! Tony Snow, born 10 years after the end of WW2 has no conception of the pride we had in our country and its actions in that most legitimate of all American wars - a pride that Bush and other preemptive war-mongers have all but killed.
It 's the kind of surly idiocy we came to expect from him as a FOX top banana and frequent guest host on Rush Limbaugh's radio show, but had dared to hope would mellow when he was raised to a position of more significance. Alas, "hope beats eternal in the human breast ... "
