Today I want to join the Americans to remember Martin Luther King. Martin Luther King has always struggled for winning rights for the oppressed. On behalf of millions of tribesmen I want to pay him tribute.

On this day America remembers the life of Martin Luther King, a man who led his people in peaceful resistance to deprivation of human rights. In many ways his existence and life is similar to what we, the Pashtun, face, we are discriminated against, displaced from our homes, and wrongfully accused of militancy when in point of fact we are a peaceful people.

We have been enslaved, and abused. It is time for us to stand up for Peace and for our own Human Rights. We must observe Martin Luther King's Birthday, as a people.
