I flagged a comment earlier today that I thought carried dangerously inappropriate wording and two hours later, when I checked my e-mail, found this message from Margaret Bassett, presumably an editor at OpEd.
I apologize for this automatic reply to your email.
To control spam, I now allow incoming messages only from senders I have approved beforehand.
If you would like to be added to my list of approved senders, please fill out the short request form (see link below). Once I approve you, I will receive your original message in my inbox. You do not need to resend your message. I apologize for this one-time inconvenience.
Multiple apologies aside, am I being picky, or does having to jump a spam-blocker seem a bit much for a regular contributor’s access to an editor? The ‘flag’ has of course not yet been considered, nor is it probably of any use at this point, time-wise.
I jumped through Margaret’s hoop, but hardly enjoyed it.
