Voter Experience
"Dick Baker of Lafayette found out he could have voted for candidates from another district had he voted a straight Republican or Democratic ticket.
After inserting his card into a voting machine, he was given that chance without any candidates' names being listed on the page, he said. When he decided against a straight-ticket vote, the next screen appeared.
"The names I saw were not even familiar to me," he said. He lives in Lafayette's District 6. But names on his ballot were from District 4.
With help from some poll workers, he got his problem straightened out. "But I wonder how many people who voted straight ticket ended up voting for people from the wrong district," he said." Source
WBAA News reports that problems occured when voting center staff logged into the system using login name and password intended for training and not for th actual voting day.
Residents of areas recently annexed from West Lafayette also face problems when their information did not appered on voter database.
