I blame Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, as much as anybody, for the September 11 attacks that killed 3,000 Americans.

::::::::

Tebow is the man who cited Bible verses in eye black during his college football games with Florida   instigating an NCAA prohibition on players wearing such messages.  The same man who said "I want to thank my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ," after his most recent in a strong of 4th quarter-comeback victories.  He is the devout evangelical who has reporters asking, " Is Tim Tebow God's Quarterback? "

The Tim Tebows of the world not only encourage blind faith, they legitimize it.  Rather than kill people with his own hands, Tim Tebow  (inadvertently but undoubtedly) helps clear the path for those doing the dirty work.

For the entire history of civilization thoughtless faith and trust in God has been a near-universally admired attribute.  Everybody respects a churchgoer.  "God-fearing" is a high compliment in all cultures.  Jesus Christ, so to speak, President Obama's status as a double-secret immigrant Muslim notwithstanding, do you think Americans would ever elect a president who didn't regularly claim dedicated loyalty to a Christian God?

My point being, Tim Tebow is kind of like a 9/11 hijacker, but less faithful.  Less committed to God's Word.  He does talk the talk.  A day may come when Tebow does not begin an interview by first crediting and thanking God and Jesus Christ for every first down the Broncos are blessed with, but, maybe not.  It's all a bit half-assed, though.  He can praise the Lord every time he opens his mouth, he can claim to dedicate his life to God's word and the Bible, but he doesn't back it up.  Take a look at Tebow's "playbook" for life, the Holy Bible.   Exodus 35:2 paints him as little more than a hypocrite:

"The seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."

Says the Bible.  The holy text Tim "The Mile High Messiah" Tebow holds aloft as the most important, meaningful, wisest volume ever written, bluntly dictates, among other disconcerting execution pronouncements, that all NFL players, coaches, broadcasters, game-day stadium vendors, etc., etc. must be slaughtered.  Yet Tebow plays on.  He first uses his words and fame to completely support the messages of the Bible, even while he himself chooses to not precisely practice what he preaches.

The 9/11 hijackers, they "hijacked" a few similarly irrational passages from the Koran, but they pay their holy text more than the lip service Tebow and so many like him offer.  It is the Tim Tebows, again, who indisputably encourage mankind to build up  loyalty to "God," leaving a much, much shorter leap than would otherwise be necessary, in order to arrive at the "martyr" gate that the 9/11 hijackers boarded from a decade ago.

Tim Tebow, people like you pave the road to Hell.
