Presidential Study Group Advises To Resist and Deter Nuclear Threat
"Assertive action now to build U.S. leverage is more likely to prevent Iran's emergence as a military nuclear power. But time is short if diplomatic engagement is to have a chance of success and military confrontation avoided."

Within a year Iran is likely to have a fissionable bomb. Already, she has the material for another 50 nuclear bombs.
Israeli military leaders retain the belief they can destroy Iran's nuclear capability before the end of this year [2009].
This military option will be less viable in 2010 and 2011. As the Iranian first strike capacity grows and her facilities de-centralize, the diplomatic avenues will run dry.
The import of SU-300 surface-to-air missiles from Russia will cut into the number of Israeli planes over the target. Undoubtedly, Iran would be destroyed, but the Israeli losses could lessen the chances to take out other hostile nations.
The Iranian public appears indifferent to such matters as nuclear proliferation or annihilation. Such items are too horrible to contemplate, so human beings in the Middle East leave our future well-being to think-tank muddle-heads half the world away.
Think-Tank Eggheads are Failed Children
Do you remember the type from High School? He [or she] had 20 IQ points over the rest of us. His clothes never matched in fabric and his choice of clashing colors was horrific. The nerd seemed to shuffle from side to side a distracted amoeba.
Later, he disappeared into the chemistry lab only to show up at the science fair to accept a prize.
By the time we saw him again he had been taken in tow by a woman who dressed him and made sure he sat before a barber weekly.
His contributions to the think-tank reflect the isolation of his upbringing.
Here Are His Conclusions for Us
"The Middle East is looking for strong U.S. leadership and reenergized relationships. Vigorous steps to bolster regional defense cooperation could enhance stability and serve to check regional perceptions that U.S. influence is weakening. As part of the solution to the impasse, Washington could propose measures that would also serve to shore up the global nonproliferation system. "
I doubt his words will comfort the families of the 52,000,000 doomed Iranians.
