While the elections are a fundamental part of our country’s political process, it should not distract us from much higher concerns. The economy will start to become the issue of importance to the everyday people and the election will start focusing on this issue. Neither should that important subject deter our efforts to stay focused on a much higher concern. That being, the protection and yes, even the saving of our Constitution and the Democracy which it underpins.
There are movements on a number of fronts that wish to bring impeachment hearings before the congress on either or both POTUS and VPOTUS. They should continue to be at the forefront of this session of Congress. Our economy and the overall ‘balance’ of the World cries for the justice necessary to bring healing from the error of our misled war in Iraq. All of the reasons which war was declared in Iraq have proven to be false; bringing only the unquestioned awareness that war has been waged on false pretenses. Until the perpetrators are brought to justice, we will be ‘held at bay’ by the rest of the World, much the way that the school yard bully is befriended by the oppressed in his ‘domain’.
There is still a great deal of ‘smoke’ being emitted from the ‘wreckage’ of the 9-11 incidents. Many reports still come to light, as recently as 23DEC07, that ask enough questions and present enough arguments that the least that should happen is a new, unfettered, independent hearing of ALL of the testimony and evidence. I believe that the thinking and reasoning public deserves the courtesy of open, honest investigation of these events which so closely intertwine themselves amongst the entire ‘war effort’ that we find ourselves involved with.
So, Iowa…New Hampshire…California…all of the ‘voting’ and ‘nominating’ process… will all continue to happen, and with great importance, for it is the way we decide our leaders. It will bring us once again, eventually, those whom we must choose to be our ‘favorite’. I hope that during that process, the above concerns get addressed.
Perhaps we have come to a place where changing the executive and his administration is possibly not the most important issue at hand.
