They Are Crooks and Liars

Message Grant Lawrence
"We're talking hundreds of billions,'' Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson
said recently in a press conference regarding the latest plan to use a fund of unlimited taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street.

Nah, Paulson is talking it up small. In reality we are talking a trillion(s) of dollars for the mess brought on by crooks and liars in the government and on Wall Street. So happy days are here again and the rich fat cats on Wall Street can go back to lying, cheating, and stealing while your government looks the other way. The sad news is that the financial companies were allowed to make an unregulated fortune off the misery of the American people, but when they lost you now lose. That is, the American people are the ones to pay the price for the lack of governmental regulation and oversight on these financial instruments used by the financial institutions that we are now expected to save.

But hey, I hate to be the one to tell you that you are going to have a huge bill that will likely mean that you won't have any type of social security or any other social program that might make for a better country. There is no money for that. There is no money for the poor children whom I work with every day, and for their parents or guardians working several jobs just to be poor. But those are the lucky ones. The real poor live in their cars or in dirt cheap hotels or on the streets. Many have children that live with them or with other poor relatives. Many are poor on the reservation that live in one room hogans with no running water or electricity.

So I go to work every day and see how people struggle and how so many have nothing and then I have to read about bailing out the super wealthy because the American people are too ignorant to look out for their own interests. But the American people really love these fat cat cheats and their puppet politicians. How else can you explain why the American people would put their interests above their own or their families and friends?

Now let me ask you. Would you let a thief come into your home and steal thousands of dollars from you and your family? Would you let a thief take away your lifestyle and take away your children's future? Well, you would call the police and scream bloody murder. But when they are well dressed, well educated, and wealthy thieves then we let them have it all and ask what else we can do for them. We don't care that these bums in our government and in the financial world have cheated us and our loved ones out of any type of a decent living for the future. We definitely don't care that they have taken money right out of poor people's mouths to protect themselves from their own cheating and greed.

Unfortunately as long as the American people think it is OK for the rich to lie, cheat, and steal from them while the government backs them up then it will just continue to get worse. This unconditional love for the crooked super rich and their politicians is literally destroying you, your family, and your neighbors' future.

But go ahead, get all excited, and keep voting for the same liars and creeps that have allowed this great financial tragedy to nearly ruin our country and our future. I guess it is the American way.
