These are very scary times. The last time an inexperienced governor was in office was George Bush senior. I should not have to remind you that all the foreign conflicts that have occurred since his term in office were caused by George Bush senior’s appointees. This includes Iraq, Afghanistan, Al-Qaida, 9/11, Kosovo, the list goes on. Each developed from his mismanagement of international relations. The last two presidents, Clinton and Bush junior, have been attempting to mop up the mess that will last for probably the rest of my life.
Each one of these conflicts started because of Bush senior’s inability to govern. He appointed his friends to positions that needed someone that really knew what they were doing. Incompetent Ambassadors appointed by Bush senior have caused every conflict since his presidency by making inappropriate statements that confused the leaders and populations of foreign countries.
The Bush senior administration’s mixed messages made Saddam Husain believe he had the green light to go into Kuwait. I should not have to remind you, in 1987 under Reagan we were at peace with and assisting Husain against Iran. This is why the government believed he still had weapons of mass destruction. The U.S. gave them to him.
Now we have our choice McCain, Obama, or Clinton. None have ever governed even a small city.
With Obama he promises feel good politics. Feel good is not what is needed. This is the presidency or governing of the United States at stake, Not a get inspired work shop. Obama is a great feel good speaker and should be out doing motivational speaking making people feel good. Giving him a country to learn how to govern sounds a little nutty to me.
Though I don’t like Clinton, Clinton at least has a governing crew in place all be it the old Bill Clinton crew that few trust. The Clinton crew does know how to govern, not just here in the US, but internationally with our foreign relations.
McCain does not have governing experience either. We can only wonder what will come of a McCain presidency, but I think he has a better grip as to what to do then Obama. Change is good and if this was just a state or city that I could easily move from I would care less if things got screwed up.
These are very scary times and what will come in the future does depend on who is picked to govern the United States and it's relations with the rest of the world.
