Of the more than fifty thought-provoking comments to my article, I thought Sarah's shined the brightest and trumped my own article. I highly recommend it. Not only does Sarah point out why assassination would never end our problems, she gives some high-powered ammunition for why we MUST become a peaceful nation.I recommend also that you read Sarah's bio. Among other things, she is the one person of some six plus billion who has peered the farthest into deep time, in terms of how life may have started on earth; single-handedly, she has radically redefined a critical variable of the Drake Equation, markedly increasing the odds that there is life in space, besides our own. She is working now on a novel about that incorporates just about everything currently known about the origin of stellar systems and the evolution of earth-like planets, and exploring some of Jared Diamond's ideas on cultural evolution and the influence of tectonics and geography (if you are into science, write well, and would like to help with editing, drop her a line).
When wise people speak, I believe it would behoove us to listen carefully.
