We are simply "not supposed to" criticize the pillars of our nation, the military, the media and the government. If our nation were a house, we would have built a new one long ago.

::::::::

The United States is a house.

The house's structure is the form of government we promote before the world.

Though elections are sometimes rigged, politicians bought and countless people disenfranchised,

We call ourselves a democracy.

We use this lie to justify our invasions of "lesser" people.

The house's roof is the military that claims to "protect" us from the "bad" people.

Though we send troops all over the world to war where truth becomes a casualty,

We still refer to it as defense.

We use this lie to justify major government spending.

The house's windows are the media that says it "informs" us about the rest of the world.

Though it withholds news from us and substitutes stories of questionable importance,

We still believe its deception.

We use this lie to tell ourselves that we are exceptional people.

The house's power is the government itself.

Though it misuses the military and misleads the media,

We still believe we are governed as we consent.

We use this lie to satisfy us that we need not speak up about the other lies.

Our house is based upon lies because telling the truth would cause the house to fall apart.   Maybe we need a new house.
