We need to adopt Britain's MI-5 model of domestic surveillance to battle the increasing radicalization of Muslim citizens.

::::::::

So far in the last several weeks, the U.S. has had 4 incidences where U.S. citizens have planned to blow up malls, subways and sky scrapers inside America. As a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO),I firmly believeweneed to REALLY rebrand America in its War On Terror. With the burgeoning homegrown radicalization of U.S. citizens, mostly of Muslim decent, I feel the U.S. should adopt a version of Britain's MI-5 intelligence service and allow domestic surveillance by the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). I'm conducting research on Britain's MI-5 and am writing a commentary about this adoption topic. I want to include the American public's opinions on this controversial topic. Please visit my free DECLASSIFIED SECRETS site and voice your thoughts in the upper right-hand margin, "JOIN THE FORUM", then see "SHOULD THE U.S. ADOPT BRITAIN'S MI-5 MODEL TO BATTLE HOMEGROWN TERRORISM?"

Ironically, the more domestic intelligence-gathering capabilities America has, the more freedom normal Muslims will have to practice their religious faith. But, theradicalization of some U.S. Muslim-citizens is increasing and their twisting of a heretofore beautiful religion is harming the rest. Britain's MI-5 has thwarted dozens of attacks inside their country. I'd like your views on enabling the CIA and other U.S. Intelligence Agencies to conduct domestic surveillance...before it's too late. Thanks in advance. Robert

I write about the 16 agencies comprising the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). I am writing a Spy novel and am a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO). The Blog I maintain has daily updated newspaper article about the IC. (more...)
