Due to unforeseen health issues I haven't been able to write anything other than an occasional comment since June 27th. At first I worried that the site would be devoid of meaningful articles that were germane to our deteriorating socioeconomic and political situation, but Mitch Gurney stepped-up and published a series of articles that ranged from the ramifications of the Bush Tax Cuts and several other issues that desperately needed clarification as the GOP distorts and misleads the public on virtually every issue that is of importance to the American people.
Even though I have been unable to keep up my writing I have never missed a day of reading the news which plunged me into a state of absolute disbelief in regard the state of the body politic as the GOP struggles to remain relevant. The party of "No" has blocked over a hundred pieces of legislation and their talking heads have made the public believe that somehow, our current situation is due to the incompetence of President Obama and the Democrats in general. I do agree that the Democratic Party has lost their way; The GOP always stands together, right or wrong, and the Democrats have been unable to stand together to solve even the most minor of issues. The party appears to suffer from a total lack of courage, nor do they have a vision that will lead our nation back to prosperity.
If we listen to the lies, misrepresentations and spin of Faux Cable (I hate to call it news...) and their multi-million dollar talking heads as much as the country is doing, they are screaming that electing Republicans this November will be the cure-all for what ails our nation. The Mainstream News Media, corrupt to their very soul and beholden to the corporations that are destroying our country have ignored the fact that it was the Bush Administration and the GOP that got us in this mess in the first place.
The Mainstream News Media would have us believe that the real cause of our economic plight was the collapse of the Housing Bubble and the gross fraud of Wall Street as they conjured-up financial instruments that should have landed hundreds of their charlatans and thieves in Federal Prison. Granted, both of those issues dealt a harsh blow to the economy, however, if the economy was strong we could have weathered whatever they threw at us but long before either of those scandals became known, Corporate America, corrupt Washington Politicians and the Elites that run this country had already dealt a death blow to our economy that to me, bordered on treason and sedition. As Mitch Gurney alluded to in his latest article, Have America's Business and Political Leaders cooked our Goose?, it appears to me that our corporations and America's Elites have knowingly worked to undermine our economy, national security, and the very fabric that held this nation together for over two hundred years.
Under GOP leadership we have been outsourcing America's manufacturing and high tech jobs for almost thirty (30) years. In doing so, the corporations that were built through blood, sweat and tears by the working people of America have eviscerated our tax base by sending in excess of thirty (30) million American jobs to foreign countries all in the name of profit. It wasn't that they were losing money; they weren't. In fact, under the Bush Administration through massive tax breaks and corporate welfare, our corporations used taxpayer money to begin the largest outsourcing stampede in American history. They knew what it would do to the economy, as did Washington's politicians, but lobbyist bribes and promises of reelection caused our Congress to turn a blind eye to the utter destruction of the American economy.
If you've been paying attention to the Mainstream News you will hardly ever hear about outsourcing nor the disaster it has wrought upon our nation. They remain silent, corrupt and complicit with the corporations that destroyed America's Middle-Class and they have the nerve to point fingers at President Obama and those that are attempting to rebuild our economy. Without the help of corporate America, it is absolutely impossible to reinvigorate our jobs sector. Fifteen (15) million jobs outsourced to China and India cannot be replaced unless the shareholders of said corporations wake-up and understand that the nation as a whole is rapidly entering Third World Status. The government could attempt to intervene, however, ever since the Fascist Five at the Supreme Court ruled against the people of the United States and made a mockery of the law and stated that corporations are entitled to "free speech," we are witnessing the likes of Karl Rove and the Fascist Koch brothers pouring millions of dollars into our election process to ensure that Big Business is represented in their best interests, not that of the people. Unfortunately, fascism appears to be taking an irreversible hold on what used to be a model of democracy.
Our corporations, politicians, and the Elites would have you believe that it was in our best interest to outsource America's lifeblood because labor in the United States was too damn high. Even though most of them were profitable, corporations are not "people" and they only have one purpose, and that's to make as much profit as possible and damn the consequences. During the last couple of weeks we have read that global poverty is decreasing. This "decrease in poverty" was caused by the increase in the standard of living and the improving financial status of China and India. Americans had no cause to celebrate this report because China and India's rosy financial state came about at the expense of the American public. India is the world's largest conglomeration of high tech outsourcing and the majority of their business comes from the United States. China is now the world's largest manufacturing nation, they are hoarding precious earth metals, and those that do business in China have to buy locally produced materials to manufacture their wares. China refuses to value their currency fairly and they constantly scream about "protectionist" measures often spoken of in the White House and Congress but hastily discarded after China raises holy hell. It appears that we are slaves to the debt we owe China, and right or wrong, money talks and bullsh*t walks.
The disservice that the Mainstream News Media and Corporate America has wrought upon the United States is far more than corporate malfeasance. When our "News" refuses to alert the American people to vital issues that affect our economy, national security and our very way of life - I call it fascism, treason and sedition. When our corporations and Elites willfully destroy our own economy, cause millions of American to lose their homes, I also call that treason and sedition. The destruction that has befallen the United States is a direct consequence of globalization and so-called "Free Trade." This trend can be reversed, but it won't happen until the American people become mad as hell and demand change.
Changing this decline in our nation will be a monumental task. We cannot count on the Mainstream News Media to help us, as they are nothing more than corporate whores and mouthpieces who wouldn't tell the truth if their lives depended on it. We also have to count out Congress. Our Congress, almost to the man has been corrupted by our system of legalized bribery where lobbyists are firmly in control of their votes and opinions. Congress has become nothing more than a trough where politicians can gulp up as much money as possible and the majority of them have sold their souls to the "Company Store." With that in mind, where does it leave the American people?
Sadly, once again, we are on our own. The only way we will take back our country is through a grassroots movement where we actively talk to our neighbors and attempt to educate everyone we can and motivate them to do the same. Keep in mind that fifteen million Americans lost their jobs to outsourcing - and millions of then lost their homes and everything they worked a lifetime to acquire. Millions of them now live in poverty and I suggest that because of lack of money, many of them don't have Internet connections, much less computers.
It is vital that we reach out to those that have lost the most. Tell them the truth, help them to become angry and to band together in solidarity. The United States will not replace those jobs and these millions of people will not be able to find acceptable employment. It's time that they raise holy hell and work to bring about change. Violence is not the answer. A General Strike and massive civil disobedience appears to be the only way to get Washington's attention. Several of our local police departments have militarized themselves and police brutality is rising at an alarming rate. With Fascism comes a more authoritarian form of government, and that spells danger to those who engage in peaceful protests. It is vital that we remain peaceful, but in the same breath, it is tantamount to saving this nation that we stand together in solidarity and make our voices heard, not once, not twice, but repeatedly until President Obama and our corrupt Congress begin drafting legislation that benefits the people, not corporations and the nation's Elites.
We stand at the cusp of the destruction of our country. The United States will stand, but in its present form we the people will be in servitude to Corporate America and work jobs that fail to provide a decent living for us and our children. It takes courage to stand up to the corruption in Washington and the fascist corporations that are destroying our country. If you stand in complacency and believe that someone else will solve these issues we have lost the fight before it even began. Look deep into your heart, consider the future of your children and grandchildren, and when you vividly understand that they have no future without a massive outcry from the people, lend a hand and stand with your neighbor to take back our country. This is not the Tea Party, Democrats, Independents, and certainly not Republicans. This movement will only be possible if those who have lost their livelihoods and love our country and the Constitution of the United States. This will only succeed if "we the people" finally throw off our complacency and fight for the American way.
