while there was much to feast on with the Mark Foley scandel my initial impression was based on the memory that abc recently did the administrations biding by airing the docu-distortion "path to 9/11" which basically blamed the clinton administration for not focusing on osama bin laden and thus 9/11 would have not occured if the president wasn't distracted by the sex scandel involving an intern.that abc previously denied to air michael moore's "farenheit 911" before the 2004 election because of its politcal message confirmed my instinct to suspect another truth beneath the surface of the same spin.
while the obvious lie was that clinton was distracted by a sex scandel because the reality is that he was not otherwise preoccupied as documented in the final 911 Commission Report the mind set of a delusional people remains that clinton was distracted by a sex scandel involving in intern. indeed the affair was prime meat for a media frenzy and the public was not to be disappointed.
if the public was so distracted due to media influence then perhaps the party in power could try it again given the attention span of the average american it was better than 50/50 to succeed. better for a republican to fall on the sword by being outed as an alleged pedophile than for the public read about the death and destruction in iraq before the mid term election. indeed gay bashing has served the party in power to divide people before.
with regard to mark foley's presumed innocence i am assuming we are still innocent until proven guilty and the shredding of the 1st 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 14th amendements of our constitution as a result of our "war on drugs" should put that assumption to rest.
the spin was that it was dirty tricks done by democrats to influence the election. and even though the factual evidence to date is that it was a republican that gave the story to none other than abc it was another opportunity to "blame clinton" and since they recently ired a "blame clinton" movie they would be only too willing to expose foley sex scandel. in fact this is precisely what the republican leadership did - blamed clinton.
and when i recall seeing the fair and balanced network inform the public that mark foley was a democrat i was compelled to suspect a media manipulating truth and perpetuating a lie by participating in disinformation and exercising an abuse of power to influence the public. who can deny them the josef goebbels award for passing off political propaganda as reality.
indeed based on my personal observations americans have an insatiable appetite for that which appeals to its purient interests and have little stomach for the harsh realities of the consequences caused by our actions in iraq. perhaps some machiavellian prince on 1600 pennsylvania ave knew as well that there was nothing like a good sex scandel to entertain the masses and distract them from the uncomfortable truths of iraq.
one such uncomfortable truth in present day iraq is that there now exists a civil war which the major media outlets refuse to claim to be a "civil war" reminiscent of the "freedom fries" foot note in our history by calling that which "is" that which it "is not". in a former "evil empire" this was known as soviet socialist realism or the rewriting of history.
another uncomfortable truth in present day iraq is that thousands of iraqi people are being killed by us and killing each other when not killing us. with an election on the horizen the party in power goose stepping behind this mad incompetent cheerleader-in-chief did not need their constituents to be reminded of the real situation in iraq.
well there you have it. my theory about the foley scandel:
fact: a republican leaked the story. fact: the story was leaked to abc. fact: fox indicated foley was a democrat. fact: republicans said it was a democrat dirty trick. fact: the republicans blamed clinton. fact: questions of who knew what and who knew when were asked about a sex scandel. fact: the foley scandel was front page replacing the death and destruction in iraq.
conclusion: once again questions of who knew what and who knew when have yet to be asked about iraq. once again our leaders are not held responsible for their actions. once again congress will not hold this administration for its fabrications for war and its failures for conducting it. Once again republicans proven that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely when they
control all branches of government.
the other foley scandel is the one in which the public was distracted once again from a reality which will have consequences that will not be pleasant for indeed we shall reap what we sow.
