I'm feeling better as I come out of the woods onto the high ground of the grain fields and the path that winds through them back to Sacred Clearing. Yes, that's the name of my town (Heiligenrode), which in German can still be called a village (Dorf) and deserves this quaintness since it has been around since 1123. My favorite spot, so peaceful and idyllic it does almost seem sacred, is a small corral at the highest point that, until recently, was home to a dozen or so goats, including babies. I'd never seen anyone tending to them but obviously someone did because they all disappeared around Easter time. I'm afraid they may have ended up on somebody's dinner plate.Read on here.
