We are at the point in the formation of The Liberal Party of America, where we need to get the petitions going to get the party on the ballot in every State. The very idea of actually getting a major political party started has been greeted with skepticism and advice that basically says that we can’t do it. I beg to differ. Sure, the task before us is enormous and the hurdles seem insurmountable, but the facts are, if we have enough people that are committed to changing the direction of our nation, it can be done.While we are in the process of incorporating, we have the wording and the forms for the petitions in most States. Of course we need volunteers to knock on doors or to set up in front of high traffic areas and get the signatures needed onto the petitions. The basic premise behind this effort is to run candidates to counter the right, and also to put pressure on the Democrats for the simple reason that half of the party votes with the right to continue our failed policies in Iraq.
If you would like to be a part of the solution instead of complacently waiting for someone to turn this nation around, this is your chance to do something constructive. If you could give a few hours of your time on a regular basis, you would be doing something historic. If this nation continues its march towards fascism, looking back you might wish that you had done something. At the very least you would be able to say that you did what you could instead of feeling sad because you did nothing.
If there are people who have had experience in political activism, we are looking for you. If you want to coordinate the effort in your state or possibly become chairman in your State and organize the effort required to change America from the world’s largest purveyor of weapons and war, to a nation that works for the people of the United States instead of the multi-national corporate establishment, this is a golden opportunity. We are not asking you to blindly follow dictates of a political party you know nothing about, we are just asking you to enable us to put forth a platform of social responsibility and to work for peace in this confused planet. The current direction of our government will bring more death and suffering to so many, that to do nothing will make you not only a disgusted witness to the unraveling of social responsibility in the world, but it could also make you feel guilty by doing nothing.
