The Valerie Plame saga in simple terms is about the destruction of a decades old CIA covert intelligence operation. This covert operation was a company called Brewster-Jennings that was a fake energy company that Valerie Plame headed. This fake and covert company's role was to gather intelligence about Middle Eastern and specifically Iranian nuclear weapons acquisition and development programs. Plames' covert company operated fake offices and made legitimate dealings in nuclear technology etc for cover. This 'front company' was our best source of information on Iranian progress in regards to nuclear weapon development.There is speculation that Plame's organization intercepted a shipment of WMD's coming through Turkey bound for Iraq to be planted prior to the invasion by US forces. There is also speculation that Bush/Cheney took out Plame and her covert operation because they wanted to be able to expand the war to Iran and didn't want Plame's good CIA Intelligence in the way of their tried and true Bad Intelligence scapegoat when the time came. Sy Hersh reported on this but no one listened.
All those involved in leaking Plames identity committed Treason. Operatives were killed because of their treason. There is no justification for leaking classified information...ever! Bush/Cheney/Novak/Libby etc did this. Bush by any reasonable standard of criminal conspiracy ala RICO should be tried at the very least.
How can we as a Nation tolerate an administration that willingly destroyed an important source (in fact an entire DECADES OLD COVERT CIA FRONT COMPANY) of intelligence on WMD's in the middle of their war against WMD's? It boggles the mind how hypocritical and insidious Cheney/Bush were.
And now we have Cheney all over the tube. This reviled 'war criminal' freely given the mouthpiece by the MSM to speak his BS. A man who used torture to lie his country into war. A man whose old company Halliburton was given billions in no-bid contracts for this illegal war of invasion and oil theft (Iraqi oil contracts with france etc were ripped up and replaced with ours). A man who for some reason was at the controls of NORAD on 911 and caused their worst intercept performance in History. A man that will undoubtedly go down in history beside Hitler and other mass murderers (one million Iraqis). This vile creature that skipped the draft is now somehow worthy of our respect? Hardly. He is a Traitor and the heartless head of the Oligharcy. His policies personally exploded hatred for the US and terrorist recruitment worldwide.
Why are we in Afghanistan? Do some research folks. It is to protect the Unocal/Halliburton pipeline built after we invaded a country that sent no fighters (kinda like Iraq hunh?)...to NY on 911...Duh. It is about corporate oil war fought with the blood of our children. And Dick Cheney and his corporate cronies are laughing all the way to the bank. Tower 7 WTF? The media is not to be trusted. Period.
