You're in favor of social programs? Free Healthcare? all kinds of other government funded this and that? Look, I understand where you're coming from. OF COURSE it would be wonderful to give every downtrodden person in this world the help they need and for every person to be taken care of.But please, just tell me how that is possible using government intervention without this paragraph below ringing true-
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without paying, another person must pay for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that it does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to pay because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what the money they are working for -- that, my friend, is about the end of any nation.
You cannot multiply wealth by merely dividing it."
I don't want to hear liberal riff-raff in the comments section about not caring about this person or being privileged and all the other garbage I seem to get barraged with. I am not here to defend my character or priorities, I am here to challenge you, the good hearted left-leaning thinkers, to please read this paragraph and reconcile it's very real truth with your contradicting liberal opinion.
I want to challenge principle here, not circumstances.
