I recently joined Op-Ed news because of all of the posts I've read regarding G-d. For example, hatred of G-d, belief in G-d, disbelief in G-d, understanding of G-d, etc. I was particularly interested in the myriad of comments that were posted regarding a diary entry by Deborah Emin that had to do with a hate crime in Queens. It spiraled into an all out war about the Bible, its interpretations, and G-d Himself. In a nutshell, I couldn't believe how many people did not believe in G-d and/or were angry with Him. It took me a very long time to be comfortable enough to say that I have a firm belief in G-d, but never once was I upset at Him for shortcomings in my own life or with the world. We are the masters or our own destiny people. Although the Old Testament was left here as a blueprint for life, we have free choice as to how to live our lives. Thus, even if your twisted interpretation of the Bible is to condemn homosexuals, you do have free choice as to whether or not you're going to beat a man senselessly in the street for buying a pack of cigarettes AND being attracted to other men.
The argument, by far, is not about G-d or the Bible. It's about you and me and how all the crap around us has shaped our view of the world. Take off the tunnel vision glasses and wake up. Use your God-given free choice for good and not evil.
