Guess what Republicans will do to help fix our broken healthcare system:
Absolutely nothing. And they expect to win big in the 2010 election because of it.
That's the news from Senate hopeful and Missouri Rep. Roy Blunt, chairman of the House GOP Health Care Solutions Group, and Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Inhofe. Blunt told The Hill, "We could have language, but why start diverting attention from this really bad piece of work they've got to whatever we're offering right now?"
Translation: We're not going to offer our own plan so that we can spend 100% of our time tearing apart President Obama's proposal.
Sen. Inhofe said trying to reform health care is what "led to the 1994 Republican takeover of the House and the Senate." He added that when Republicans derail reform, "that's going to be a huge gain for those of us who want to turn this thing over in the 2010 election."
We need to send a strong message to Blunt, Inhofe and all of the obstructionist Republicans: Americans want change. We will not allow you to play political games with our health. And we certainly won't reward you for it at the ballot box.
We know that you already signed the DSCC's health care petition - thank you. Now, ask others you know to join you. Click here to forward this message to like-minded people. Tell the Republicans to stop throwing up roadblocks. We need health care reform now!
Sincerely,
DSCC
