are we really going to cut funding to social programs?

::::::::

I don't understand how anyone thinks that to solve the budget crisis they need to take support away from those who need it most i.e. cutting medicare and medicaid. How will the poor and elderly be able to cope with this? Not to be facetious, but they will probably die, get sicker, and commit more crime, all of which will become even more of a burden on the government.

The poor, ones that are getting by with a little help, will lose those few extra dollars that make life bearable. The extra dollars that keep the stress of barely getting by and living day to day out of their minds. The kind of stress that causes severe depression and suicidal thoughts and to be medicated. Those few extra dollars that keeps crazy people sane. Now, rather then people only needing welfare or snap money, they also need medicare so that they can get out the door. The Elderly and sick will lose the money that will save their lives, if it's not the medication or operation of today, its the damage occurring today from lack of treatment that kills them tomorrow. And really, Why the f*%k did they just pass a health-care bill?

The money that these full of sh*t politicians make debating what they think is moral is outright sickening. People in a democratic society deserve to be healthy, they deserve to be educated, and all of the people deserve to be treated with respect and equality. If you can't understand that people are born into situations that leave them with nothing, to no fault of their own, you shouldn't be allowed to take office. If you don't know a person who has been helped by the system that these congressmen are trying to de-fund, take a walk through your closest city and talk to some people who will tell you that they are not doing enough. If you take the social welfare programs out of society, you are asking for a societal breakdown. The ones that are just well enough to know that they may have to steal their next meal, will do so. The ones that know that your rich neighbors sons and daughters will love the drugs that they can make in their basements will do so, then sell them in your town. The medicine that they need can be found at your Walmart drugstores, right next to the guns that they will use to get them.

Those that have lived their lives sheltered from the problems that most people face are living in a fantasy world. A world that is upon the backs of those less fortunate. Their greed and opulence brings suffering and starvation to the many.

"We've had to bring this president kicking and screaming to the table to
cut spending," said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., on "Fox
News Sunday."

Damn right. Obama knows the benefits that these programs have on the quality of life of so many people. Spending now can save later. Think of home maintenance, if you wait until the roof caves in, it's going to cost you a whole lot more then taking the money to take care of it while it is not a major problem. The financial system is a great example of this, they didn't take the
time to fix the problems with lending and credit and when the bubble
burst it was max damage.

Healthy people can work. They can do their jobs well and they can pay their taxes. Sick people are looking for ways not to work, ways that they can just get by. Even elderly people can work when they are healthy!

Call it the "keep America running" tax, and make all billion dollar corporations that operate in the USA pay a piece of
it. If the government shuts down they ought to know that the poor are going to rob, loot, and murder for every dime extra they can take when there is no one to keep them from doing so, and hey, they had their chance to keep their businesses safe.
