I am planning a couple road trips to enhance my civic engagement in America or contributions to this democratic society that is ailing severely. With your help, I can go on these trips and start to take actions to get more youth or the so-called "future generations" involved in taking back America.

10:43 AM ET An American patriot interrupts an exchange going on between Carl Levin and Gen. Petraeus over the jargon being used by Gen. Petraeus to describe his future plans for Iraq.

This patriot rightfully interrupted an exchange that must have been frustrating to anyone who was in the room.

1,000,000 Iraqis are dead. Over 4,000 U.S. soldiers are dead. The economy has been looted. Corporatism and fascism is on the rise and seriously infringing upon the functioning of this democracy.

It is presumable right now (unless some members of the House or Senate show courage) that today we are not going to hear from our leaders questions and answers that show the Congress will be uniting to end imperialist and illegal adventures in the Middle East.

The American people are going to have to be organizing on our own time to bring the troops home, bring war profiteering operations home, and end U.S. imperialism in the Middle East.

I am planning on going to one such national meeting in San Francisco where people from Berkeley who have been involved with anti-military recruitment nonviolent actions are going to be present. We will spend a couple days talking about driving out Bush in this election year, what actions we will do to keep people pushing for prosecution of Bush instead of waiting for the election, and then talk about what we do to repudiate Bush after he leaves office and the next leader takes power (Obama, Clinton, McCain).

I am also planning on going to the Building a New World conference (May 22-25). I have been invited a few times by people here on OpEdNews to go and be involved in the conference. For example:

...Please come and participate in the Building a New World Conference May 22-25 at Radford University, Radford, Virginia. You can find more information about the conference http://www.wpaconference.org. You can find more information about the conference sponsor at http://www.worldproutassembly.org. We want to brainstorm together what exactly we need to do to set our country on a better course and in a better, more glorious direction.

I have seen what people are doing here and want to get connected/networked with people on the west and east coast.

That said, with permission, I have asked OpEdNews to let me appeal to people for donations between $1-$10 so I can begin to put together a fund to send me on a couple "educational sabbaticals".

The information or knowledge gained will be used to write OpEdNews articles and brainstorm ways to deal with the frustration and inadequacy Americans are feeling in an election year when both parties are failing to demand that this country makes the changes in policies, domestic and foreign, that need to be made.

Thank you for your donations. All money left over from paying for travel expenses and conference fees will be donated to OpEdNews.

Lieberman is talking up the Iran threat to our goal in Iraq to stand up an Iraqi government. He is in the process of selling reasons for a war with Iran to the American media for it to parrot to the American people. (11:11 AM ET)

These our dire times. We must organize in opposition now. This opposition must come from more than a vote we give on Election Day.
