I was willing to give Obama a chance but it seems he's squandering his lead in the polls being passive, not striking back at Shame-us-McSlander the way he should be. The Republican candidate has so many Achille's heels, but instead of going on the offensive against McCain for any of them, Barack Obama is "John Kerrying" the Democrat chances in the fall with his lack-luster campaign and his being too laid back in bringing up McCain's weak points with the same intensity that McCain slanders him (Obama). Obama is just letting McCain pummel him and basically not counter-attacking and not bringing up McCain's weaknesses, like HIS flip flopping, HIS being in the pocket of big corporations, HIS standing for the same trashing of America that has gone on under George W. Bush.
Obama is failing to counter McCain's drumbeat of falsehoods, slander and demagoguery. It is too bad that the Democrats can't seem to 'man up' and fight the Repukes on their own terms. The Republicans have every reason to lose an election: They've trashed the country since 1994 and the current mess we are in needs to be entirely owned by them. But Obama is sitting back and being a professor and putting out good ideas but he hasn't got the punch to hit back at McCain's falsehoods and red herrings and bring McCain up short on the many ways McCain would be WRONG for America's future.
I'm afraid Barack Obama is simply handing the White House to John McCain on a passive silver platter. .
