Surface and Mineral RightsWith the high price of oil-by-the barrel, we are having action in the "oil development" industry in Oklahoma. We have been offered money for our little dab of land for our surface rights. The rumor is, a neighbor, who really has land, is now a millionaire as the oil industry drops a hole in his ground. If so, the oil hunters, leased, not only the surface rights, but also the mineral rights on his land. After all, the land belongs to him, including the oil, underneath it.
As a good oil man, George Bush would stand solidly behind the oil company's right to explore on anyones land with their permission plus the company's money. You see, Brother Bush is an oil man, though he has never discovered more than 5 quarts that went into the engine of his car.
But wait! Something odd is going on here. President Bush has now claimed both the surface and mineral rights in Iraq. He is now complaining that some people in Iran is having an intercourse with the country of Iraq, and its people. In fact, the Bush brigade has captured some men IN Iran, who he claims is interfering in Iraq. So, ... with Bush's invasion of Iraq, he now owns the surface, mineral, and even the air rights to Iraq - lock, stock, and barrel. Heck, ... let's go ahead and somehow annex it as The United States newest state.
Good idea! It would mean that Texas or Alaska could no longer champion themselves as the largest states in the union. Donald Trump would have free reign with Baghdad's buildings, and we could introduce gambling to help pay for rebuilding, education, and infrastructure. Oh yes, ... we cannot for get the Pike Passes either!
But wait, ... the name Iraq has to go, because in English, there is always a rule that U after Q in English spelling. Iraqi NOT!
