SugarCityCane Reasons for Development
I would like to see the US engaged in growing sugarcane on the Equator on large Aquatic Rafts hydroponically. We need to grow things to eat up CO2, and give back O2. The many other technologies such as Nuclear and Hydrogen do not add good air or take away bad pollutions. We need to think about stopping Global Warming in a way that will create many jobs. Without jobs we are doomed.
Other Technologies such as Nuclear and Hydrogen Fuel Cell, hybrid cars do not create enough jobs. In the USA there is not enough land space to grow Crops that produce Ethanol. Yet on the Equator there is over 25,000 miles to use. On the Equator it is very safe because no Hurricanes, Typhoons, or Cyclones materialize because of the opposing wind directions North and South of the 0 degree line. This makes this area an ideal growing zone. Jobs can be realized in Aquatic- Raft Building, and from the Sugarcane Stalk seedlings Factory. The planting factory prepares the sugarcane seedlings into a removable metal grid that is later placed inside the Aquatic-Rafts.
The Rafts are aligned like a train and pulled by a ship to the Equator. These operations can be based at some abandoned Islands located on the Equator. Several come to mind...namely Bakers Island, Jarvis Island, and the Gilbert Islands. These locations would be an ideal suitable location. These Islands use to be phosphate mining Islands that have been abandoned for many many years now.
Once our USA sites have been accomplished we can venture toward expansion by involving other countries such as Indonesia, Australia, Maldives, and India. There are many countries that could provide equitable labor expense, namely China. Right now I think if we farm and grow the Sugarcane we can sell to Ethanol Sites around the globe. Sugarcane is ideal because it grows many times before needing replanting, approximately 7-8 harvests.
There will be a special harvesting ship that has a bell type cover hydraulically dropped over each A-Raft and cut at knee high while is pulls the cane into and on board the ship. The ship can squeeze the cane, and later transfer to Carrier Tank Ships to go to the distillation sites. There are other technologies that also use the Ocean and they say Algae is a very good Oil producer.
Given that fact Algae should also be farmed on the Ocean. But we also need to grow SugarCane for Ethanol because Oil is not a quick burning fuel such as Ethanol. So we really need both. Also Algae does not provide the same level of O2 to the atmosphere or gobbles up as much CO2. Granted these projects will cost money, but I think it is money well spent.
Someday there will not be any more Oil in the world. Why should the major Oil corporations control our driving habits when they are running low on supplies? Given that Iraq has vast resources, using more oil is not stopping Global Warming. We are faced with deciding which war to fight? The War on Terror, or the War on Global Warming? Really I think the Global Warming War is the immediate real War right now.
If we have answers to our Oil crisis, I think terrorism will subside. All countries with vast supplies of Oil are only looking out for their own future by denying Oil resources to developed countries such as the USA. So the USA must show the leadership and direction toward solving the Oil Fight, and stopping Global Warming, while creating Jobs. My idea is called ACET/SugarCityCaneACET: Aquatic Charcoal Ethanol Technicorp. SugarCityCane is the name of the City where it will be produced hopefully on the abandoned Islands I have mentioned in the S. Pacific. My website is http://www.sugarcitycane.com
