Despite the fact that they are perfectly aware that the Democratic Party is not representing them, Democrats appear determined to vote for more Democrats who will not represent them.

What explains the determination of election reform activists who know that elections are rigged, to continue voting in rigged elections?
There is an alternative to voting in rigged elections for candidates who won't represent you -- it is called NOT VOTING.
Party hacks and operatives often say that those who don't vote are apathetic. I think the truth is just the opposite. Those who vote are apathetic. They know that their votes don't count and that whoever is elected will not represent their interests, but they don't care.
They just don't care.
