Obama made some good points about the failures of the Bush Administration, and a nod to McCain's support of Bush. But there were so many attacks he could have made against McCain.
For instance, just to bring up one of the last issues, McCain talked about how veterans supposedly know that he'll take care of them. What about the fact that so many veterans organizations rate him so poorly?
As Matthews is saying, Obama bent over backwards to say "Sen. McCain is right."
When McCain said he didn't think Obama had what it took to be president, why didn't Obama turn around and say the McCain doesn't get it, and that he doesn't have the temperament to be president, as he did in his acceptance speech?
Of course, I think Obama understands the issues better and has better solutions. But I wish he would get over being such a gentleman.
