Proving what we already know is true, Dick Cheney emerged from his crypt on Sunday to appear on Face the Nation and endorse Rush “Deaf by Temptation” Limbaugh over former Sec. of State Colin Powell as representing the future of the GOP. This news should be shocking, but it’s not. How scary is it that a raving, racist, neocon propaganda machine who hopes Obama (and perhaps all of America) fails to dig this nation out of the morass left by the Bush Crime Family is an acceptable alternative leader to a former Secretary of State? What does this say about the state of our nation, and of our media? Last week, after Sen. Specter’s defection to the Democratic Party, Powell said the Republican Party was in “deep trouble” and needed to find a way back to the middle, causing bloated bloviator El Rusbo to prod Powell to follow Arlen’s lead and also leave the GOP. Cheney didn’t miss the cue from his new leader, taking these talking points in stride and running with them on CBS Sunday, stating that “my take on it was Colin had already left the party. I didn’t know he was still a Republican.” So if Dark Lord “Deadeye Dick” Cheney is now taking orders from the Oxymoron . . . where does that put Rush in the neocon pecking order?
I just got a chill.
