North Dakota is one of the few states that is not suffering during the downturn. The reason? They have their own state-owned bank.

::::::::

North Dakota is one of the few states that has not suffered during the downturn. It turns out that the reason this state has not suffered is because they have their own state-owned bank. While the rest of the states suffer primarily due to toxic if not out-right fraudulent banking practices, North Dakota has a simple state solution, a bank owned outright by the state of North Dakota.

Since our federal government is primarily interested in satisfying the needs of the greedy corporate bankers and couldn't care less about the rising unemployment and the STILL rising foreclosure rate, it's time that the states begin to do something about it.

My proposal? Make a state bank and revoke the rights of the corporate banks to practice in your state. Kick them out of the state and have a state run bank. Keep people in their houses, and keep small businesses running.

Obama has proven where his interests lie, and that is with greedy bankers. Republicans and Democrats need to stop clobbering each other and realize that what Bush did was damaging and what Obama is continuing is damaging as well.
