Dear readers,
On Jan, 28, 2008 George W. Bush will give his last State of the Union Address where he will not only address we the American people, the speaker of the house, the Vice President, the Congress, and of course his distinguished guests, some good ,some corrupt, and some just completely oblivious. He will give us the same old song and dance, as usual. With any any luck he will be dancing with his legs instead of his mouth. His legs will be easier to follow, and there will be no need to interpret. I am not writing this article to dig on Bush, as much as I would love to, I just cant stoop to the level of Impeachment. More than anything, I write this article, because now will be the time for you to watch your Elected officials response to Bush's address. You will know how well you did when you elected your state senator's, and congressmen because they will show their true colors by applause. This is where your elected officials clap for things they agree with, or don't clap for things they do not agree with. So often, once we have completed our civic voting duty as some would call it, others on the other hand, would suggest its our constitutional right, we often stop there. I would like to point out that we do not have a right to vote under the constitution, that right was left to the states. (Bush vs GORE, US SUPREME COURT 2000) How often do we stop, write, or just check in, to see how things are going? Once your elected official gets into that office you rarely ever see them again, you only hear bits and pieces on the news, or in the paper, or the old fashioned way, and no it's not the telegraph, it's word of mouth. We never go back and make sure the vote we gave was the right one, we just assume they will do the job they said they would. In the 2000 election we got duped, then came the 2004 election, and we got duped again. You see, it wasn't whether they were democrat or republican it was the agenda they stood for, regardless of what they conveyed to get elected. In case you you haven't noticed, just as many Democrats as Republicans are actually behind Bush, but only behind the scenes. So here is my point. Actually watch the State of the Union Address, as much as you don't want to, and look for your candidate, watch for him or her clapping, watch their expressions, as George W Bush gives his Sermon. I know your thinking right now, I do not, want to watch George Bush, and really, who could blame you? I just hope he don't interfere with Boston legal. This will be the time the candidate you argued with your friends over, you know the one I am talking about, the one you fell off the bar stool for, here is where they will show if their true loyalty is to their constituents, or the adminstration. Don't go popping no corn, I don't want you to fall asleep,
but do pay attention, It's time to make sure the choice you made was a
good one, and you were not being duped. Some of them are coming up
for re-election, this where you will be able to determine, was it a
good choice, and do they deserve another term, or is it time for them to
hit the road! There Are going to be huge changes in this up and coming
election, we as Americans have the chance to ensure our future
freedom, it's time for us to tell our candidates, our way or the highway, our
choice.
