Swine Flu may be the best thing that’s happened to the neocons since Bush “hit the trifecta” on 9/11 as news coverage of the potential pandemic is poised to overshadow coverage of President Obama’s First 100 day milestone and send the torture memo/SERE training scandal to the back pages as well.
Speaking of swine, now that there is a legitimate public health crisis, will these porcine Republican politicians finally quit playing the political delay game with Obama’s nominations for HHS Secretary, FDA Chief, and Surgeon General? Can we confirm a CDC Director if we ask reeeeeeal nice? Could we please stop the endless evaluation of their tax returns and parsing their positions on abortion and stem cell research and get them in office to, y’know, save lives and protect the health and welfare of us Americans?
Can we get some leadership? Pretty please, with Tamiflu on top?
