The word, "socialism" tossed about like a weapon of mass confusion.

::::::::

Who Are You Calling Socialist?

The other side has occupied eight of the longest years in history and have
only made a complete disaster of capitalism. Every successful country today has an intelligent mix of capitalism and socialism. Mike Huckabee and other "head in the manure pile" Republican idiots can't see that the free health care Bush/Cheney/republican congress et-al got and liked was either a mix or was purely socialistic. This is an example of the mindless “knee jerk” ideology being spewed by a group elected supposedly to be our leaders. Scary isn't it?

These same people don't mind taking police and fire protection,
pushing military protection for every imagined problem, but balk at allowing we citizens  any government (socialistic) help. These mentally challenged talkers use highways, airports, parks, city water, sewer service, the internet, weather forecasts, snow clearing, electric power in some areas, coast guard maritime protection, FDA, CDC, FBI, CIA, SEC (at least, before Bush ruined  them,making them corporate stooges), GPS, aircraft navigation services, agricultural advice, basic research, and on and on literally covering most of human activity. I am happy for this and so are the loudest of the big mouthed/small brained complainers. Some recent examples would include Gov. Palen, Mr. Gingrich, Mr. DeLay, Rep. Bachman, Rep. Blunt (no pun intended), Rep. Boehner (again no pun), Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Inhofe, Sen. McConnell and many others proving these old quotes: “He who knows does not speak. He who speaks does not know.” Lao-tzu;  “He who knows not and knows not he knows not: he is a fool - shun him. He who knows not and knows he knows not: he is simple - teach him. He who knows and knows not he knows: he is asleep - wake him. He who knows and knows he knows: he is wise - follow him.”  In politics, unfortunately, the last example does not exist.

Cheney, one of the biggest takers of socialized medicine doesn't want
the same for you. He even once revealed his selfish feelings by stating  that if you want a national park you should go out and buy one (p.s., he is a multimillionaire, thanks in part, to Halliburton's grand theft of the government!). While we aree on quotes, Marie Antoinette said something similar about eating cake.  Both showed their arrogant disdain for the 99% of citizens they felt were beneath them.

Our brainless loud mouths do not realize that all government is socialist and in a functioning democracy the government is the people athough cheney/bush had other ideas about this (dictatorship, which is the ultimate socialism).

Whatever happened to the quaint old fashioned idea that a human brain was to reason using facts as evidence. Gut feelings sort of went out of favor when we finally realized that ships really don't fall off the edge of the earth and that the obvious earth centric universe was just as clearly
wrong when good science was applied.

Science and scientific thinking should be tought in school no matter what
endeavor someone enters. it is the method of using ones brain to analyze fact and evidence based logic.

I really have no patience with Republicans (some Blue Dog  Democrats [Republicans in disguise] as well) and their anti intellectual thought process, their ridicule of thinkers as “pointy headed academics.”  These   comatose people are perfectly willing to watch TV, use MR and CT, drive cars and freely use things that would not exist without scientific reason, but continue to try to kill the goose that laid this golden egg.

I am a sixty seven year old retired physician and Navy veteran of the Vietnam era. I have strong feelings about our Constitution and the Bill of Rights and also believe in the words of Patrick Henry: "Give me Liberty or Give me Death." I am very (more...)
