ENVISION THIS..a large group of farmers and citizens concerned that Monsanto's strongarm tactics, designed to dominate the seed market with genetically modified seeds, represents a very real threat to organic agriculture.

Our guest is Jim Gerritsen of Wood Prairie Farm in northern Maine and president of the national trade group Organic Seed Growers and Trade Association, which is lead plaintiff in OSGATA et al v. Monsanto, the landmark community lawsuit which seeks court protection for family farmers and challenges the validity of Monsanto's GMO seed patents.

Jim and his wife and co-farmer, Megan, write at their website, http://www.woodprairie.com: "We are a small Certified Organic family farm in the State of Maine that markets our products, and those of a number of other Certified Organic farmers that we know and trust, directly to our customers through our print catalog and this webstore. Our modest scale allows us to focus on producing high quality organic goods for you and your family. We tend to your needs with great care. We know that its your business and goodwill that keeps us in business and for that we are grateful. So let us be part of your kitchen and your garden, by supplying you with good food and good seed." They seek to protect small family farms such as theirs that are endangered by Monsanto in order to ensure a sustainable, resilient, and equitable supply of food in the future.

Hear more of this modern David and Goliath story and get to ask questions of Jim, a true modern day hero on ENVISION THIS!, Wednesday Evening, Se[tember 5 at 8 PM. You can also email questions in advance for us to ask on your behalf to Email address removed .
