We really need to hand it to the Democrats. They pulled off a historic success in championing the election of our first black (well, partly) president, a triumph -- so it seemed at the time -- of American political morality over prejudice. A new dawn for the integrity of the electorate! And amongst its successes were surely to be the demise of the lies and disingenuousness of the Bush regime.
Then today we get this headline bythat paragon of political integrity (arghhh!) the Washington Post, which is after all the only journal of any substance in the capital of the world's most powerful andfeared nation.
"President looks to send fewer additional troops. "
"...fewer additional..." What the hell does this mean? Don't look for anything good here. What we're getting is political chicanery more slicklypackaged than the Bushido Banzairhetoricians were capable of, that is better disguised treachery. Who wins here? I'm uncertain, but there's no doubt who continues to lose: us.
It seems what we got was somewhat smarter, not more honest, that is a higher level of official obfuscation than the Bush team could muster, which in itself only a retardedright wingnut or a bankster could possibly embrace.
Better than a pile of doggie doo? Mebbe, but is that what you'll settle for? I DON'T HEAR YOU !
Meanwhile, somewhere in England, the turf appears to be erupting of itselfbeneath a modest tombstone, and the name on it is......quite small and difficult to discern......yes, it's George Orwell.
.............Well I'll be damned, and so may we all.....Rafe Pilgrim
