It costs us $2000 in compensation for each Afghani child we slaughter. This is a situation that cries out for the appropriate financial controls.::::::::
"$2000 per dead child! That's the amount of compensation offered by the Pentagon for the 'collateral damage' which it has caused in Afghanistan." (Francis Shor, CommonDreams.org, 2-27-10)

Well that can be a problem, one that requires appropriate financial planning and controls.
This isn't really all that difficult, and there are some mathematical models complete with charts and graphs we can draw upon, the issue being that responsible fiscal management requires that a realistic budget be developed, and that the actual expenditures be tracked against that budget, and that the responsible parties answer to any variation between the actual costs incurred and the budget.
.
So, first we need to determine how many Afghani children we project to slaughter each year at $2000 a pop, and then we need -- at least monthly -- to track our actual killings against the budget base.
.
If the killings exceed the budgeted amount, then we need to tweak the killings down a bit, to get back on schedule so to speak.
.
If however the killings lag the budgeted amount, then we need to pick up the action, i.e. kill children at a faster rate until the actual killings are back in line with the budgeted base.
.
Almost any Republican will support this approach, and practically no Democrats will object, as is their demonstrated character.
.
Don't you love it when a plan comes together!
.
And, while I have your attention, do not neglect to Support Our Troops, since they are in fact appropriately budgeted....well....at least until they're psyched out; then there's not much budget left for that sort of thing.
