The National Geographic Channel had a special, The American Skin Head that was more than disturbing; it showed how a morally bankrupt group of Americans preaching hate find an audience. I had written a diary piece, http://www.opednews.com/populum/diarypage.php?did=12557 that asked the question of what OEN would be like if it were a political party, and pointed out the diversity of ideas of a group of people I feel are above average intelligence, yet have a difficult time, if not impossible in finding consensus. Some that make comments quite regularly on OEN, sound awfully close to some of the rhetoric being preached by these hate mongers we know as skin heads, neo-nazis, white Aryans, KKK, and others of this ilk. They hate and distrust anything government, police, people of color, Jews, Latinos, anyone different than themselves, with their solution being violence.
Tom Metzger is one such person, and although he has changed the name of his hate group several times, he is now WAR or White Aryan Resistance. Here are a few quotes from Metzger: A. All systems are oligarchy. There is no other. B. As far as the targets hit by the Islamic attackers, I do not consider the WTC a U.S. institution, but the headquarters of most that's wrong with our present masters. C. Either we're going to solve this by realistic negotiation or there will be blood on the border. D. I promote revolution against the Capitalists and the Social Marxists. E.In almost all cases now the police are as much an enemy as the F. The reason the Jews hate Nazis is primarily because they didn't come up with the idea first. Guns, killing, overthrow of government, fear, and hatred are the mantra of these people, and one must wonder if some of their rhetoric is that much different than some that comment on OEN. We are either a nation of laws or we are not and just because we have been through the debacle of Bush/Cheney, make it even more important that we are a nation that respects the rule of law.
